I try to offer content that encourages moms! We go through a lot of the same experiences and sometimes having a set of tools or a plan, to tackle that mama moment, can make all the difference! The after school hours for example….these questions can help initiate conversations and encourage your child to share their thoughts and experiences with you after a day at school!
I shared this REEL over on Instagram and wanted to share here as well.
Anyone else’s kids come home from school HANGRY?
I feed them as soon as they walk in the door…and if my sanity allows… get them in on helping make it.
Things To Ask Your Kids After School
Did anything funny or exciting happen at school?
Did you learn untying really cool today?
Who did you have with at lunch of recess?
Did you have any challenges today?
What did you enjoy the most about today?
How are you feeling right now?
I hope you know you aren’t alone…
If you feel like your kids come home from school extra wild, the same happens in our house! And most of my friends all agree… so, Solidarity!
I try to remember how socially, emotionally, mentally exhausted my kids are… and hungry… and cover those bases to fill them back up.
If a kid has a melt down, and struggles to reset, I have them do some alone and recharge time. (That reduces chaos in the home but also is sometimes JUST what they need.)
Then scoop them up with hugs and offer more snacks! I feel like all my boys have days they need that alone and chill time and then they’re ready to join the action again and tell me about their day!
You got this mamas. Love them up. If all else fails: CINNAMON ROLLS.
