We started a fun little summer tradition last year…and sophia kept reminding me..
MOM!! It’s time for our FRUIT PARTY!
I take all the kids to the grocery store and we look around the produce section and choose some favorites
and maybe some we don’t get all the time!
They LOVE it… something about getting the plastic bag..and filling it up!
We take them home and I set the table pretty.
We get out the crayons and paper and they all draw their favorite fruits.
They get so proud of themselves, “MOM! Look at my pineapple!”
It’s kind of like an art class where they can look at the “fruit models” and draw them. ;)
A lot of “CAN WE EAT THEM NOW!?” happens… and then once I cut everything….
They choose the fruit to “taste test”
Then they all share which fruit is their favorite!
Maybe you are looking for a little summer fun that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
It’s all about making a simple thing like eating fruit…special…
by being really intentional and having fun with it!
We mixed snack time and craft time together with this party.
There is something about saying it’s a tradition that makes it feel even more fun.
Add a fruit party to your summer bucket list!
You can go simple and just get a few things.
You could do the drawing part or maybe have snuggle time on the couch with a fruit or food themed book!
I’m obsessed with Usborne Books. we have a bunch.
I think these would be cute to read for your summer fruit party!
(a couple of these are currently in my wish list. haha.)
Look Inside Food (It’s a lift the flap book) – 1,000 Things To Eat
The Big Book of Colors (This one has fruit in the different colors!)
This would be a great activity for a rainy summer day too!
We did our fruit party in between pool trips. YUP.
It was a 2 times pool day. Those are great days because…
1. It’s fun! and 2. Bed time is EASY when they swim all day. haha.
