Summer is here! We are so ready for it and excited for fun and slow days around here. With 6 kids though, I try to set up some sort of routine with the kids. Everyone does better with a little structure in our house. I wanted to plan some quiet-time learning fun into our summer days and signed back up for Reading Eggs Learn to Read! We used this years ago and Micah was obsessed with it. When I told him today, that I signed back up, he was thrilled! And the little boys want to do anything big brother does. ;) Reading Eggs is the award-winning app that helps kids learn to read and makes learning fun!
Reading Eggs is the perfect positive screen time activity for kids that is engaging and fun! The activities feel like games and keep my kids interested and engaged as they practice.
It also has a section called Mathseeds that is all about making math fun for your kids! That is Micah’s favorite thing to do right now. Micah is all about completing lessons and earning acorns so that he can furnish his treehouse. Haha. He is always so proud of himself when he gets a 10 out of 10 score on games. That makes me happy seeing him enjoy learning! It’s also comforting to have this resource handy as we go through the summer so my kids don’t forget everything they learned this school year! They can keep it fresh with fun learning games.
Asher isn’t reading just yet, but I started him on the level for him and he is so excited about it. Reading Eggs includes self-paced, one-on-one lessons that match your child’s ability. It has fun characters, songs and interactive animations. Asher is seeing how learning to read can be easy and fun!
Hunter loves watching Asher play the game and he’s starting to figure out how to play it himself. It’s nice because you can create a profile for each kid that is set at their learning level. I’m all about sparking a love for learning and this currently is a favorite with the boys.
My kids love having quiet time on a screen and I’m happy to add that into our routine if it’s going to be educational for them. Not all screen time is equal, but Reading Eggs is the perfect way to encourage positive screen time that results in learning. I work from home and it can always be a little tricky during summer to get my job done. I try to line up quiet screen time during Chase’s nap time…and Reading Eggs is something fun that keeps the big kids learning and engaged while I get some work done.
In addition to the program, Reading Eggs offers hundreds of free educational printouts designed by experienced educators to support you in lessons at home. You can print off some favorites and have even more learning fun throughout your summer!
