Sophia + Sienna’s Fairy Birthday Party

I’m so excited to finally be sharing the Girls’ Fairy Birthday Party!
Sophia turned 6 and Sienna turned 4! This will probably be the last year we do a joint birthday party *tear* But it was a fun last shabang! They requested fairies and we gave them fairies! Lots of DIY details that made it extra special on that day and days after! We had a fun fairy land to have creative play in for weeks after! Life is extra busy with me having three littles and a company (HAPPY MOMMY BOX) But I LOVE throwing parties, it’s relaxing for me and I enjoy doing all the details and pulling it together. So even though I didn’t have a lot of time or money for the party, we made it happen! All of the treats were store bought to save on time and were budget friendly treat ideas from walmart to save on money! I did inexpensive DIY details that make a big bang for your buck. I used end of summer discounted flowers, cardboard boxes, past party decorations and inexpensive bulk tissue paper to create a fun fairy land! Check out all the details and photos below!

One of my favorite details for a party is the Dessert Table!
A Fairy Dessert Table?!? oh yes.. yesss please.
Had so much fun with this one and the girls were big helpers in
picking out their treats and the fairy houses we made!
The table had ALL STORE BOUGHT sugar cookies, cupcakes and colorful candies.
My girls don’t really like cake, so they picked out a cookie cake! I do not have the cake decorating gene. I once tried..and failed.. and have learned to accept that I just need to put that on my bucket list and one day learn to do that.. for now..I buy cakes and throw some cute flower poms on them. :) I used the birch stands I had made years ago for a Halloween Party Dessert Table.. along with my white cake stands, plates and ikea bowls.

DIY FAIRY HOUSES
We used a grouping of cute bird houses from Michael’s and JoAnns to decorate across the table! I cut some of their doors wider then painted and hot glue gunned on some end-of-summer-clearanced flowers, moss, fake acorns, butterflies and sticks from the backyard.
I’m going to be doing a full post on the project! Super easy and now a cute little display in the girls’ room! Their tinker bell set fairies fit perfectly inside! I had every intention of making peg fairy dolls… nope. too busy. haha. and on a budget! These ended up being a cheaper option and I thought they were super cute.

The Fairy Dessert Table Backdrop was made by taking strips of tissue paper and taping them up row on top of row..mixing in some gold fringe garlands I already had from a Grammy’s Party I threw. I’m all about using old party decor! I purchased my tissue paper from Papermart. SOO CHEAP and you can get HUGE sheets. I used them for the Flowers and the Backdrop.
I got Seven- 24 Packs of Tissue Paper – Size: 20×30—- for $26.45
Cerise, Dark Pink, Orange, Peach, Pistachio and Cool Mint.
I have SO MUCH leftover.. but its just cheaper to go that way and then use it for future projects. I LOVE tissue paper. It’s a weakness of mine. that… and dishes. :)
I snagged up some cute number candles from Target.. then made mini flowers using the scrap tissue paper and taping them to lollipop sticks I already had.
I made the cupcake toppers in photoshop, printed on card stock and taped to the lollipop sticks. I also put some of the party city gold coins in the cupcakes! (anything in a cupcake is a hit with kids.)

We set up the dessert table in our dining room area…with the fairy house in
the family room area. It’s one big open space. When having a party in your house
it helps to move furniture around to make it work!

I used our dining room table for more treats to eat and to display the fun dress up
items for the kids! We had Dollar General Fairy Wings, Target Dollar
Bin Eye patches and hats, Party City maps, compasses + swords.
I used fake flowers (leftover from Sophia’s nursery!) for the middle of the table and a cute birdcage from Michael’s filled with a cute succulent(got an awesome cheap set from walmart that I haven’t killed yet!) My girls love candy, pirate’s booty, chex mix, pretzels and lemonade.. so that was on the snack menu! ;) I used my cute tray from Target to hold the pitcher of lemonade, cups and paper straws(from walmart.) The flower and pirate plates were from target.

The goody bags (from target) were filled with a pack of fruit snacks,
a pack of crayons and some gold treasure! The girls helped me fill them up!
We might have eaten a few fruit snacks while we did it… :)

FAIRY HOUSE AND PAPER FLOWERS
The Fairy House + Flowers were something I KNEW I had to try and pull off. I had an idea in my mind of how I wanted it to look and I’m so happy with how it came together!
I mentioned above about how I used Papermart tissue paper to create the flowers. I taped them to the wall using shipping tape (leaves no damage to the walls whatsoever!)

It’s a super easy and affordable DIY that can make anything extra special!
This baby saved my sanity plenty of rainy days after the party!
I suggest that you throw a fairy party right around the end of summer clearance sales at your craft stores!! I hit the jackpot. I mean.. it got ridiculous how cheap the flowers and flower garlands were. And I loved how it turned out.. With a utility knife, cardboard boxes and paint you can make a fun little house for your kids’ imagination to go wild with! I made a flower garden connected to it so the fairies could tend to their garden ;)

The girls’ dresses are from target.. and I made the flower crowns using floral wire and the discounted flowers from JoAnns! I’m a fan of the signs that say 70% off + 20% off!!

It was such a fun day! a hot.. but fun day! :)
Micah was happy that most of our new friends here in Charlotte are boys,
because that meant Pirate gear at a fairy party! He was loving having his sword!
(My dress is from wet seal! Inexpensive and comfy!)

Back when I was in the hospital for a couple weeks, a blog reader sent
my girls this tassel garland.. I ended up using it for the party.. it was the perfect touch across our windows! Thanks Project Paper for being so sweet to my girls.
They loved it during that scary emotional time and loved it even more on their birthday!
I ordered the gold balloons from Viva Rosa on Etsy. I loved how they looked…
but we joked that it kept looking like the girls were turning 46 or 64.

CAKE TIME
My girls love cookie cake. Like their mama.
This baby disappeared. mmm cookie cakeee.

CRAFT TIME!
My girls love a good craft. And jewelry! So we made fruit loop necklaces and it was a hit.
They all actually sat and did this for a good amount of time..super into it.
Micah mainly crushed the fruit loops but I had to vacuum anyways ;)

PARK FUN!
We are lucky to have a playground down the street from us.
So since our place is smaller, we all strolled over to run around!
My nephew in the knight costume seriously cracks me up. He came ready to party.

It was fun having everyone all together for their birthday!
Lots of family and new charlotte friends helped us celebrate the girls. We moved here not too long ago but loving the community we have found. Thankful for these friendships and for having my family so close! For the first time since college I am near
my family and they are able to come to the kids’ parties!

The fairy decor has since been moved to their room… tissue paper flowers all over the walls!
And the fairy house was turned on its side into a rocket ship yesterday…
they used markers to draw buttons on it and blasted off!
