Our Week with the Chevy Traverse

September 18, 2014

Ben and I had been talking about how we needed a new vehicle… and it was later that afternoon I got a phone call about this fun opportunity! It couldn’t have come at a better time. We loved being able to check out all of the great things we had heard about the Chevy Traverse! chevy traverse-thebusybudgetingmama

We had a blast filming this video to share our week! Hope you enjoy the video :) chevy traverse-thebusybudgetingmama-5

When looking for a family car, you want safe and spacious. And I was pleased with how the Chevy Traverse handled both! It has an NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety* and an available, industry-first Front Center Air Bag**. The Chevy Traverse has the largest cargo space in its class — with seating for up to a total of 8*** people! Plenty of space for my crew, plus more! chevy traverse-thebusybudgetingmama-6

We are on the go a lot with errands and activities. It was fun being in such a comfortable and pretty vehicle all day while I zoomed around! The kids loved it! I also loved the Bluetooth®**** integration! Set that up right away and was able to be hands-free and connected. We took full advantage of the space and did a lot of house projects we couldn’t have done in our current car, while having the kids in there at the same time. It was nice to cross some things off the to-do list! chevy traverse-thebusybudgetingmama-2

Time to go back to school is here!! So that means even more time in the car. We spent our week getting school supplies, gathering fairy birthday party supplies and soaking up every last minute of summer!

As a mom of littles in car seats, it is SO NICE to not have to bend down to put them in their seats. That is a game changer, mamas. The Chevy Traverse is the perfect height for loading your kids in and out. I liked how it drove really smoothly, too!

We had a blast test driving the Chevy Traverse all week… and I might have pouted when the week had to end. ;)

*Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) New Car Assessment Program (www.SaferCar.gov).

***Seating for up to 8 is standard on LS and 1LT. Available on 2LT. LTZ seats 7.

Hey Natalie-I have three kiddos and I currently drive a Hyuandi Santa Fe and it has room for up to 7 passengers. My two younger children are in car seats and I babysit another little one who will be going into a forward facing seat pretty soon. Ideally I would love to be able to fit all the little ones in the second row and then my son in the third row, so that it’s easier to get the babies in and out. But right now, I’m having to put two babies in the middle, my daughter in the back and my son sits in the middle between the two babies, and he hates it. How were you able to fit all three in the back row? Was it a tight fit? Thanks so much!

I never thought I would want a backup camera, but after my MIL just purchased her new vehicle and I got to take a peek I was sold. I am a Chevy and JEEP kinda girl so this vehicle would be prefect for me. Is it weird that the selling point for me would be to NOT have to bend down for the carseat?! UGH. I can’t wait until I have enough cash to pay in full and get rid of my Taurus.
