Our Mican man loves ALL the games and really wanted the whole gang there for his 9th birthday! ;) So we made a mash up of his favorite gaming characters! It was an on location birthday party…and with only 30 minutes to set up the party, I needed it to be an easy but fun display! Always love a dessert table, and a challenge, so we prepped a party table that was easy to put together… but still BROUGHT the party! Sharing all the details in today’s post.
First things first…since Micah was hoping for a party theme with ALL his favorite characters…I had to get a little creative! Most gamer party details were for one specific game: Kirby…or Minecraft.. or Roblox. But we were able to find fun options from all his favorite games and piece them together for an EPIC GAMER PARTY! I’ll link all the amazon finds below.
It was a fun day celebrating our Micah! Not sure how he is 9 already…but here we are!
When planning parties…I love when it’s a pretty theme… but the bottom line is… it’s for the birthday kid! So if he tells me he loves this stuff well we are going all in! (NO neutral birthday party going down over here hahaha.)
The happy birthday banner isn’t available alone but is part of a Mario party theme kit now. And then the characters were all made to attach to other party decor (honeycomb centerpieces!) …but we used them straight onto the backdrop or balloons. Super Smash Brothers Honeycomb Centerpieces.
I got a few Minecraft tablecloths, which Micah thought were so cool, I mean…it’s the little things right? haha.
The backdrop itself is a Minecraft Banner. I brought along out backdrop set up so we could easily set up our table anywhere in the space. This is a similar option: 10ft Adjustable Backdrop Kit. I just taped the banner to the top of it and put it behind the balloon arch. 12 ft Table Balloon arch kit.
The balloons were from Hobby Lobby and I used my balloon garland arch to string them up and attach it to the table on the ends.
The Minecraft creeper was a fun find at Walmart. We didn’t use it as a piñata but just part of the decor. They had enough sugar going on and activity wise they already had the whole taekwondo fun! Their massive nerf gun battle was pretty fun!
Micah’s favorite part was seeing the characters all lined up. He chose each one and it was so cute watching him show his buddies. Those 9 year old boys were living their best gamer loving lives. haha.
Micah helped me pick out what treats we were going to have on the dessert table! Of course…CANDY. Then Rice Krispie treats, cookies, cupcakes and marshmallows -on a stick!
It was during dinner time so we had pizza and gatorades for the party crew. Micah requested a carrot cake and I wasn’t and about that one bit..love a carrot cake. I found the cutest topper on amazon that fit the theme perfectly. They have a bunch of different ages. Level 9 Unlocked Cake Topper. Here are similar Roblox Cupcake Toppers that we used! The kids loved picking their character.
We set up a favor table next to the treat table. These Minecraft Favor bags were filled with candy and other fun stuff Micah helped me pick out.
We also used that table to store the cheeseballs and gatorade. Micah has always LOVED giving out favor bags at his party..he would run after his friends who were walking out without one!
Ben and his mini me, Micah. Thanks for stopping by to check out our epic mashup of a gamer party for Micah! :)
