Since moving into our new home build, I’ve felt this pressure to have everything set up how we officially want it before I share a space on here. BUT, that’s never been how I’ve blogged..I’ve always tried to show you guys us enjoying our spaces as they come together. SO.. I’m officially doing a reset in my mind in this new house! I’m going to share rooms…even when I know there’s other details I want to work on. I think it’s important to show the process and also…sometimes a full home decor makeover isn’t a possibility. And that’s ok! A few little touches can really make a space feel like home. In today’s post we are going to dive into the main floor/guest room bathroom! I gave it a coat of paint to upgrade the builder grade paint that was impossible to clean… added a few decor pieces….and it made it SO HOMIE! Let’s do this!
So first things first.. the paint color is Icy Avalanche by Sherwin Williams.
I added some shelves (I got this at Hobby Lobby-they don’t show it online right now but they always have SOMETHING like it!–Here’s a good option.)
I added some greenery and pretty decor to make it feel pulled together. The cascading plant at the top is from Marshalls-sorry no link!
The container, to hold hair ties for guests, is from Target. I put out a framed photo of our family(also Marshalls) and a pretty woven basket with some smaller essentials. (hand towels, bath and body works room spray, toilet spray and more greenery!)
The frames on the wall are from Hobby Lobby. (They used to be in our room at the old house.) I wanted to add more wood elements because of how much white and black we had going on in there.
I also wanted to pick framed design that was nice to see in the mirror as you washed your hands–mainly not words.
We upgraded this bathroom during the build process. It originally was a white tub set up…but we wanted to make it a little more pretty for the main floor. Our guests use this bathroom so it’s nice having a big walk in shower set up for them. I’m obsessed with the black fixtures we have throughout the home…it was one of those picks from the home build process that I was so excited to have!
MOEN Shower Head + Fixtures
MOEN Matte Black Sink Faucet
Light Fixture
Cabinet Handles
So what’s on the to-do list still for the bathroom?
I really want to upgrade the mirror and get different linens, for this bathroom, specifically. It’s been so fun getting our home all set up and functional for the family. I love how bright and clean it feels in there…even with wild heathen boys using it. haha. It’s a struggle but I know boy mamas get it. ;)
