I’m a big believer in building community and connecting with each other. I love that Applebees promotes a National Good Neighbor Day and is just as passionate about community! They’ve been “Doin’ Good in the Neighborhood” for nearly 40 years….Supporting amazing causes like pediatric cancer, raising more than $11.7 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand with its annual campaign; working with the Make A Wish Foundation to grant wishes and host fundraising campaigns; as well as supporting local police
and fire departments with special in-restaurant events and offers.
September 28 is National Good Neighbor Day and Applebee’s wants you to help them celebrate this year by showing what it means to be a good neighbor!
GIVEAWAY TIME!!
Applebees wants to hear about YOUR good deeds! Share them and inspire others for a chance to win a gift card to your local Applebee’s! We are teaming up to award one of you with TWO $50 gift cards – one for yourself and one to share with a deserving neighbor to pay it forward! So SHARE your good deed!
Our good deed was the classic bring your neighbors a treat! I loved baking with the kids while talking about how we are going to deliver them to our neighbors… just to show them we care! With Halloween around the corner, we thought it would be fun to make little Ghost Sugar Cookies! We used our go-to sugar cookie recipe and decorated them with a bottle of cookie icing and candy eyes from the store. The kids were so excited to be “mail men” and deliver them to the neighbors.
Hunter just woke up for nap but was down to get in on this fun!
We just moved in and are still meeting everyone… but I think it’s important to put that effort into reaching out to the people in your community. I know it’s so easy to get stuck in our busy day to day that we don’t really interact with the people closest to us! A little act of kindness can go a long way in brightening someone’s day….Whip up a batch of your favorite cookies and do a little cookie delivery! Your kiddos will think it’s SO FUN and I bet your neighbors will be pretty happy about it too. ;) Thanks Applebees for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring this good deed with your National Good Neighbor Day!
