I hope you all had a wonderful blessed Easter!! Here’s some photos of our weekend.. Some of Ben’s family came into town.. and we did a big easter dinner at one of the brother’s houses.
All i had to bring was some desserts and a side dish. And i offered to take care of the easter egg hunt and found all that i needed for it at target! love their prices.
it was a great weekend…and i have tons of stuff to do for work so i should wrap this up.

bath time!
belly shot. 22 weeks. dress from motherhood maternity.
this is as close as we got to family photos…haha. sophia fell asleep at the end of Church. so we carried her in and put her in her crib for nap time. gave me some time to frost cupcakes and take some silly photos with the hubby. he’s so cute. :) sorry for the cleavage…bad angle..and…i’m pregnant.
the easter bunny came in the afternoon…hehe. so after nap time it was easter basket time!!
happy easter to me….:) i was in target the other day and saw this book..and splurged. Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes. so many yummy recipes i couldn’t resist. and this tray i had been eyeballing for a while. got it for 11.99 usually 14.99 it’s plastic but is sturdy. perfect for loading up with goodies to take to a dinner party! plus…..my dream came true when i saw the fave reds pack from starbursts! i’m a pink starburst girl. i pick them all out.
I made up some basic cupcakes for the kiddies.. and some sugar cookies in the shape of bunnies! i was going to ice them but ran out of time..and energy.
Here’s the recipe for the sugar cookies…my childhood cookie. :)
Here’s the recipe for the sugar cookies…my childhood cookie. :)
Also made some cookies and cream mini cheesecakes from Martha Stewart’s Cupcake Recipe Book! amazing. i don’t usually like cheesecake because it’s so rich..but these were perfect. click here for the recipe that lynn posted! you put an oreo in the bottom of each cupcake as the crust…best part!
Easter egg hunt time!!
of courseeee ben and the boys had to hide the eggs in easy places for the kids…
like trees and compost piles.
For my side dish i brought this broccoli salad! soooo good! My friend abbey gave me the recipe and i have to share it with you. she said everyone asks her for it. it’s that good. I haven’t been wanting vegetables with this pregnancy..but i ate this up! (ignore the mayo it’s loaded with..haha. i halved that part.) and a polish get together wouldn’t be complete without 20 pounds of kielbasa. :)
Broccoli Salad Recipe
**mix together the following in a large bowl:
(not to self..i eyeball the amount of everything..just do it to your taste!)
Broccoli
Cauliflower
1/2 small red onion (or less if it makes you cry while you cut it. it kicked my butt.)
8 oz package of Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Chopped up Bacon (i only had turkey bacon so we used that..tasted great. tip: cut before you cook it and it keeps its shape.)
**In another dish mix the sauce:
2 cups mayo (hellmans)
2/3rd cup Sugar
3 TB White Vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
**stir together sauce and salad on location right before serving to prevent soggy salad..or..if you are like my husband and likes it less crisp..throw it all together right now! enjoy! thank you abbey. :)
I’ll be back tomorrow with some favorite blogs, recipes & bargains!
Did you post about your easter?? leave me a link if you did!
