February 11, 2013 at 1:10 amKinda confused. This was linked from the freezer crock pot post. This doesn’t say how to go about freezing. I’m assuming you don’t add the biscuits to the freezer bag and freeze, yes? I’m assuming they go in at the end and are kept uncooked in the fridge? Or did you buy pre-baked biscuits? I’ve never made chicken and dumplings before so I have no idea.

February 24, 2013 at 12:40 amDo you use already made biscuits? Or biscuits that need to be baked?

September 24, 2013 at 5:54 pmI have this going right now.. I totally need to do the prep work ahead of time, and it would be super easy.> I watch 5 little ones under the age of 2… so it would be so much nicer to have it ready to throw in.. but it’s sure smelling good. thanks for the great ideas~

March 13, 2014 at 2:52 pmI made this last week, super yummy. I bought smaller potatoes in the first place, and then cut them in 1/2. I think the ones I bought were called fingerlings – very small. One thing I might do differently, I bought the Pillsbury Grands biscuits, the bigger ones. I used 4 of them, cut up small, but I think maybe I should’ve bought the smaller biscuits. I made this on Saturday. On Sunday my 9 year old asked “When are you going to make that dinner again?” I figured out he was talking about THIS dinner, and he obviously loved it!

March 23, 2014 at 10:30 pmIs there a place that shows how to make this a freezer meal? I am not sure what instructions to use to freeze instead of cook ot right away. Thanks.

April 7, 2014 at 12:56 pmFor the freezer meal portion – based on other things I’ve read – is you will freeze everything without cooking…minus the biscuits.

April 12, 2014 at 11:31 amI’m loving your freezer crock pot cooking ideas, being 8 months preg with a 13 month old I am stocking up my freezer ready for the next few months!
I’m confused by the reference to “biscuits” – but then I’m an Aussie, what we call biscuits are sweet little things you eat with tea or coffee. Are the biscuits savoury? Would a basic scone dough be a good substitute?

April 30, 2014 at 4:28 pmThe Biscuits here in the us are more Savoury. It’s basically a flaky dinner roll. What most of the ladies are referring to are these: http://www.pillsbury.com/products/biscuits/grands-refrigerated-biscuits/homestyle-orginal. Here is a recipe for a homemade type http://southern.food.com/recipe/southern-buttermilk-biscuits-26110

September 8, 2014 at 8:10 amSince I’m at work longer than 4 hour, do you think that I could cook this on low for 8 hours, then do the biscuits for30 on high when I got home?
natalie
September 8, 2014 at 12:07 pmhmm maybe! I never cook on low so don’t have much experience with it! But it’s worth a try!

September 15, 2014 at 9:53 pmYes you can cook low for 8 hrs! I have made this numerous times. However if keeping it on low put biscuits in 1 hr before eating or turn it on high at the end and add biscuits and cook 30 min.
