We celebrated Chase turning TWO this year with a Toy Story Themed party. :) He loves both Buzz and Woody so we did a set up for both! If you have a Toy Story loving kiddo too, you’ll love this post! Easy party DIY’s and presents, mixed as party decor, made this a budget friendly party while giving Chase the biggest smile! I’m also sharing with you guys a free printable that I made to label all the treats on the tables. The kids loved it and I hope it’s a fun addition to your own party table!
I really wanted to have fun with both Woody and Buzz in this party theme! So I created two little party tables for each guy. First up, Buzz!
I knew I had to get the classic cloud pattern for the background…and this amazon find was perfect! 7×5 Blue Sky White Cloud Backdrop Banner
We taped it up to a backdrop stand. (We use ours for almost every party. It just makes set up easy.) Then I strung up balloons in the buzz lightyear color scheme (minus the purple.) I got them at Hobby Lobby and then the cloud ones were from this set – Cow Print and Cloud Balloons.
I use my balloon pump and balloon tape to create the garlands. Then balloon ribbon to attach the garland to the backdrop stand at the top middle. The silver tinsel fringe door decor, on either side of the backdrop, was just what I needed to help cover the stand and add some sparkles.
The table is covered with brown craft paper you would use for moving/wrapping fragile items. I just layered it on the table. The buzz lightyear piñata was a Walmart find that we used just as decor. It was so cute! Then we covered the table with treats!
Can’t believe my Chase is TWO! My big guy!
Planning the themed treats for a dessert table is always so fun! I wanted to make the treat labels fun by writing up the words on a etch a sketch and putting the character there by it. I made these labels in Photoshop, printed them on sticker paper and had my Cricut cut them out. I got these cute little plastic signs off Amazon that I stuck them to and placed on the table. The kids loved seeing the characters! (You can use even without a Cricut or sticker paper- just print on regular paper, cut yourself and glue them onto the signs.)
DESSERT TABLE TREAT LABELS- FREE PRINTABLE
TREAT TIME! OK…so Here’s a breakdown of what I did for the party treats on the buzz table.
Space Ranger Galaxy Rocks – Hershey Kisses
Lotso’s Teddy Bears – Teddy Grahams
Woody’s Snake in his boots- Gummy Worms
Buzz Lightyear lazers – Twizzlers
Oooh Aliens – Green Jello
Bo Peep’s Sheep – Popcorn Booty
Coins for Ham
Cupcakes with Chase as Buzz!
And then of course cake and some sugar cookies
If found a Hamm piggy bank on Amazon (SO CUTE!) and put a bunch of chocolate coins around it. Was totally scammed on amazon with the coins. I suggest just grabbing them at the dollar store I’ve seen them there too and the kids won’t mind if it’s not gourmet chocolate. haha.
I love how the table turned out! Chase woke up from his nap and had the biggest smile on his face as he walked over to it!
One of his birthday gifts was a set of toy story fisher price people. We used some of these on his cake and then across the table.
We also put out our soft plush forky we have.
The Cake! I had an idea in mind to turn some store-bought cakes into something special. I got two different sizes (Walmart bakery!) Grabbed some blue and white frosting (to mix for the right shade) and some mini marshmallows! I made it the night before and popped it in the fridge. Affordable themed cake and the kids LOVED IT. Mission accomplished. haha.
I made the cupcake toppers myself with my Cricut! I took photos of Chase in a Buzz Lightyear costume. I got this off amazon (it runs large so size down!) I removed the background in photoshop…and then ran it through my Cricut to cut out! Taped the little chase guys to lolipop sticks and done! Chase Buzz Lightyear toppers. He LOVED THEM. everyone did. ;)
Time for Woody’s Table! I had fun pulling the main colors/patterns of Woody to use on this table. Another one of Chase’s birthday gifts was a set of toy story characters. Also put out our mr potato head from target..but here’s a “real” mr. potato head. They looked so cute out and the kids loved being able to play with them during the party! I taped to the ceiling a little balloon garland I strung up on balloon ribbon…The cow print balloons were perfect!
Then I covered the table with matching brown paper like buzz’s table…then added some yellow paper I had drawn red lines on. I wish I had more of that yellow paper but I worked with what I had. :)
For the treats on this table we had
Woody’s Sheriff Badges – Star Sugar Cookies
Mr. Potato Head – Potato chips.
Bullseye’s Haystacks – Rice krispie treats.
Popcorn in cute western containers (Hobby Lobby)
If you haven’t tried this sugar cookie recipe you need to! It’s our family favorite that my mom made when we were kids and now I always make it for my kids.
I used wooden stands I had – I have a whole collection of them in my dining room..it’s a thing for me haha. But the wooden and metal touches were perfect for our Woody Table!
I got these years ago at Target- Hearth & Hand 2 Tier Wood and Metal Cake Stand…
and the tall one on the right is from Hobby Lobby.
I had some other party details set up around the house!
I made these giant letter blocks with tape (from hobby lobby) and letters I cut out with my Cricut. This DIY came together so fast and was larger than life for the kiddos! I strung up some army guys on it and the kids LOVED seeing them around.
On the island we had more snacks and party food. (veggies/dips…salsas/buffalo chicken dip and chips. things like that!)Didn’t get a better photo because the party got started. I also had framed a photo that my friend Jenn had taken of Chase and put that out on the island.
Weeks earlier, I had set up a cute little Toy story themed photo op and Jenn worked her magic in our driveway!
I used these photos for the e-vite I sent out to our family and friends. I just love how they turned out!
–Toy Story Characters–
–Etch A sketch–
–Mr Potato Head– (I used the Target one but linking the real looking one)
For the part favors, I got these mini boxes and filled with them with candy. We wanted to make them look like the toy box from the movie. :)
How cute is that drawing that Asher did? I HAD to put it up on the wall. He was helping me get ready for the party.
Time for some party fun! Grateful to our friends and fam who helped us celebrate our TWO year old! Chase felt all the love and the kids ate all the sugar. ;)
