Backyard Camping + Kohl’s Giveaway!

The other day we had a fun camping day in the backyard!
Mommy took care of the snacks.. daddy pulled out the camping gear…
and the kids were ready to have a little backyard fun!
It really doesn’t take much to make these kids happy… they loved the set up! AND the s’more supplies. ;)
Asher loved his SEAT! More details on that below. (It’s amazing.)

I wanted to share today some tips for a little Backyard Camping fun!
1. Tent.
A tent makes it feel special and an immediate adventure!
We got all of our camping gear from Kohl’s! They have a great selection.

I always pictured us wrestling with tents because of EVERY movie I’ve seen with a tent in it.
They always are like being hit in the face or it falls a part on them when they all get inside.
Tents had a bad rep with me. But this one…. LOVE IT!
It goes together really fast and it feels sturdy! The tent is by Stansport.
  
Tents are the perfect spot for total goofing off.
Warrior noises. Girl talk. Giggling over spooky monsters. you get it.
Tents are fun.

2. Next up. gear.
My girls love bags and putting things in bags.
If you have a bag to put in a bag?? even better!! Haha.
This backpack was filled up with the essentials……
I gave her a blanket to put in there and then
she picked out the other basics like random toys from her room.
But actually this bag is alllll mama’s. It’s amazing!!
I called dibs and I let them borrow it for their camping day ;)
It’s a great one by Columbia. 

Everyone was a fan of the backpack.
and hugs.

3. Snack Time.
Now… as we all know. kids are hungry at all times of the day.
So snack time was  a must.
I packed up some cereal mix, graham crackers and cubed watermelon.
We had this Stanley cooler that they thought was so fun carrying out!

We made s’mores! Although most of our kids only like the s’more ingredients and not the actual melted kind??
So there was a lot of candy sneaking while daddy made one for me haha.

Whenever we do s’mores in the backyard I bring out some baby wipes.
I think my kids will be all grown and I’ll still have a bag of wipes in my purse. haha.

4. Baby Gear.
So I didn’t even know I NEEDED this…
But it was a game changer! This high chair by ciao! was amazing!
It’s super sturdy and Asher loved being up and able to see what was going on.
He was a happy camper!
I loved it so much I took it later on to my parent’s house for dinner.
We set it up in her kitchen because my niece was using the other one!
It’s super easy to put up and take back down. This is a MUST.
I’ve been raving about it ever since we got it.
Who cares what I think…it’s Asher approved people!
  

It was a fun afternoon playing outside.
We kept the tent up with the idea of sleeping in it outside but we had a change of plans.
It’s on the bucket list! I’ll be sure to share how the girls do in their first camp out with daddy! :)
But as of now camping day consisted of snacking, chatting, playing in the tent and enjoying the outdoors!
Maybe one day we’ll add the sleeping part. Excited to have the gear to do it!
