The trip to atlanta was wonderful!
Have to share some of the fun we had…
Here’s of mix of mine and other people’s photos from the weekend..
I didn’t even have a chance to pull out my real camera….only used my phone.
So happy for my brother and his WIFE! Can’t wait to see their photos!
They had a huge bridal party.. (our whole family was in the wedding)
It was cuteness overload with these little ones.
(top left) My sister and I are there on either side of my brother.
(top right) Sophie and Emma (Shannon’s daughter) were the cutest together.
(bottom left) My mom looked beautiful as the mother of the groom!
(bottom right) My husband looked so handsome in his tux!
on the way to the wedding he said we looked like mr and mrs smith. haha.
(except I’m 6 months pregnant..)
The reception site was amazing! They did it all themselves too!
I love how into DIY Projects My new sister-in-law is..
It was a blank canvas that they transformed into a beautiful party space!
The get away car. :)
They drove through the chick-fil-a drive through after
the ceremony, on the way to the reception ;) (that’s who took the photo below)
The morning after, my sister hosted a brunch for our family that was in from out of town.
Note my amazing bread cutting skills…
My mom was a baking machine and made most of the yummy food.
I made a batch of zucchini muffins.
I couldn’t leave town without
driving past my childhood home! ;)
Before we headed to Charlotte from Atlanta..
We made a trip to visit Shannon’s Grave Site.
She was in the front of my mind all weekend..
with her sweet little emma as one of the flower girls..
If I could describe how it felt to go to the grave site….it was.. wierd.
It didn’t seem real. Memories of the Funeral came back..
mixed with memories of before everything happened where we were happy.
My sweet sophie could tell I was sad..
“Mommy, you miss your friend?…..You’ll see her again.. at the party in Heaven!”
Isn’t she the sweetest? She even said that prayer for me at night prayers before bed.
All in all I’m glad we went…It was the first time since the burial. But I can’t get over how odd it felt to be taking a trip to atlanta and visiting her there instead of somewhere else. I talked to her for a while..telling her all about the wedding and how adorable our girls looked together as flower girls. Even though I felt some closeness to her there.. I feel it the most at Church or during Mass. That brought me some comfort since I’m so far away.
We had a day in Charlotte with my parents
before heading back to Pittsburgh.
The girls helped my mom pick some tomatoes for daddy.
I did not inherit my mom’s green thumb…. ;)
The girls were pretty good on the drive home.
we usually leave with plenty of hours of ‘night’ for them to sleep.
sleeping babies are nice for an 8 hour car ride….. :)
The baby wouldn’t stop kicking. I think he or she was trying to escape.
There are some very exciting things coming up on my blog for you to get in on!
Sharing the details soon!

August 22, 2012 at 10:21 amLooks like you all had a fabulous celebration. I have followed your blog for a while and never realized you were from Atlanta! That’s where I was born and raised until high school when we moved to a tiny town in the southwest. I haven’t been back in years and I miss it!

August 22, 2012 at 3:58 pmAll those beautiful children in white is such a sight, love it! Glad you had a good time celebrating with your family. Love a big family party, they really are the best dont’cha think!
Sophia sounds like my oldest, he always says something that comforts me and brings a smile to my face if I’m sad. Glad you had that too during your trip to Shannon’s grave.
Take care Natalie!
