The love for basketball is strong in our house and Asher was so excited to hoop it up for his 8th birthday with a Basketball themed party!
Sharing all the party details, ideas and links in today’s post. Let’s go!
When it comes to my Asher, he is a Warriors fan! So I knew that we wanted to have the blue white and yellow balloons for his fave team!
One of his presents was a Warriors banner to hang in his room, and we hung it up by the dessert table for the party.
We also got him a Warriors jersey to wear for the party but…it was too small! I underestimated just how big he got as an 8 year old! haha.
Anyways, his little brother was excited to take that gift and Asher threw on a fave jersey he basically lives in. A classic.
I had two party areas set up… the dessert table and then a chips and drinks table. This party wasn’t during a meal time, so it really was just treats. All the sugar. ;)
I strung up some basketball balloons above and put out our letterboard.
I wanted to make a basketball court look a like for the dessert table backdrop. It actually was pretty simple to make – Ben helped me grab this board at Lowe’s. (it’s super lightweight just long.) And then I drew with pencil a “court” and Asher with the number 8. Then used a few layers of white paint marker to draw my design.
This table is actually our kitchen table and we moved it into the sunroom for the party.
The court backdrop is actually sitting on the ledge of our windows and we just popped a few nail gun nails into it.
Then I just loaded up the table with Asher’s favorite treats!
I made a mini hoop for the cheeseballs with a dollar tree basket – and some white/orange card stock paper!
Rice krispies are always a must for our parties – and I added these cute plastic basketball toppers.
All of my kids love popcorn and Asher was so excited to pick out toppings for the “make your own popcorn mix” station at the table. We had reese’s pieces, sour gummy worms and M&M’s. The little white bags are actually just the super cheap lunch bags from Walmart and I cut them to be shorter. The kids loved filling them up with popcorn and then choosing their fave toppings.
This Water Cooler has been the best purchase. We’ve used it for a bunch of parties to make up Gatorade or Lemonade.
I had a chalkboard easel that I taped string to and used clothespins to hook up a bunch of chips. (I used both sides.)
For the favors, we just did some of Asher’s favorite candies for little treat bags. He drew the signage here – so cute.
His favorite player is Stephen Curry so we got this little figure at Walmart and used it on his cake! (The bobble head toy is on his desk now.)
I love this picture of Asher so much. :)
It was such a fun time with friends and family. Asher had requested musical chairs and it was a hit with the kids – loved throwing it back to that classic game! Us ref’s kept everyone in line ;)
We had our go-to bounce house outside in the yard and Sienna and my niece were set up for face painting!
Asher’s day was made with the fire basketball! haha.
Can’t wait for the next celebration! Thanks for stopping by to check out the party details.
