This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Window Covering Safety Council. All opinions are 100% mine.
Home is a special place. I hope it is where my children feel comfort and fun….but most of all it’s where I hope my family feels the safest. October is Window Covering Safety Month and I wanted to share some safety reminders for my fellow moms!
Life gets so busy, sometimes things get put to the bottom of the to-do lists or you might not even realize certain dangers! Did you know that one of the top hidden hazards in the home are corded window coverings?? According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) they can be a potential strangulation hazard for infants and young children. During October, I encourage you, to check your window coverings for exposed or dangling cords. These can be a strangulation hazard to infants and young children.
You can easily replace them with cordless products, that you know are safe, by looking for products marked with the Best for Kids™ certification label. Products with the Best for Kids™ label have gone through third party testing and are designed for use in homes with young kids.
Going cordless is easier than ever before! A recent US Safety Standard requires that all stock products be cordless, or have inaccessible cords. I’m all for a mom tip: just look for the Best for Kids logo on products to know they are a safe option for your family. They are available at all major US retailers.
I hope this post was helpful to you as you work hard to make your home safe and comfy for your family!
