I’m excited to go back to my blogging roots and share a favorites post! I went around our house and gathered beauty and self cafe products that I use and love! I’m sharing everything from my new favorite mascara I’ve been using the last few months… to the drugstore product that has been clearing up any blemishes overnight! Needing some self care? I’m sharing a couple things that fill me back up so I can keep pouring out to my kiddos!
First up! Let’s chat beauty picks!
We are in a season of dry lips and I’ve found a great lipstick that I’m so glad I randomly picked out at the store. I loved it so much I got two more! (One was on sale. woohoo.) Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede. Affordably priced and what I love is that they help my lips feel moisturized and add a great hint of color. My absolute favorite is the shade High Heels. It’s a great natural pretty pink color. The first day I put it on I felt like I looked more youthful and refreshed and it was the only thing different in my makeup routine that day. It really helped!
I also love the shades Preview and Silhouette. (Silhouette was the one that got me hooked on this line to begin with!)
I’m a Maybelline fan since high school…my normal go-to mascara has always been the Full n’Soft in Waterproof. But I was feeling the urge to try something new and grabbed the Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift in Waterproof. LOVED it and have been using that as my daily mascara for a few months now. I don’ have time for fake eyelashes or getting extensions…just not the season I’m in right now… but this mascara is giving my lashes a good boost of length and fullness.
It’s always super fun to get a blemish right?? Nope. haha. Hormones are raging these days and even though my skin was pretty good when I was pregnant.. it’s freaking out on me more. There’s been a few things that have helped though and one of the things was a random find! I had wanted to up my skin care plan now that I’m in my mid 30’s..and had gotten a Skin Renewing Vitamin C serum by CeraVe. I got it in hopes of helping with improving my skin texture and brightness…but what I found was that it really helped clear up any blemishes! I put it on every night after I wash and moisture my skin…and my blemishes, without any harsh feeling, clear up very quickly!
We had gotten Sienna the Sonic Toothbrush by Vanity Planet for Christmas and I ended up getting the same one too. I LOVE it. Every time I brush my teeth it feels like the clean you get at the dentist. I can tell a huge difference with how Sophia is brushing her teeth too. It works great! If you aren’t used to an electric toothbrush it does tickle at first. But after a few uses I didn’t notice it that much and I love how clean my teeth feel after! It has a base with an area to sanitize the brushes- kills 99.9% of bacteria. It has a timer and different settings like massage, whiten, clean etc. Sophia’s and my teeth are definitely whiter looking because it does such a good job.
Let’s chat self care! I know it’s a trendy thing right now but we need it! And for me setting aside time to do something I enjoy is a great way to fill myself up to keep caring for everyone us. I honestly would rather sit at my kitchen table doing a puzzle than going out to get my nails done. That used to be my self care thing but not right now. Reflect on something that you enjoy and try to work it into your week! You’ll be a better mom/wife for it! I really don’t sit down much to do something that isn’t work related. So when I first got the puzzle out my kids were confused haha. But I told them I actually love doing them…and instead of hustling I’m going to sit and enjoy this! Everyone was playing happy and the chore list could wait a little. Now Ben…hates puzzles. haha. He really struggles enjoying it but sometimes tries to join me..to be nice. It’s pretty funny haha and very sweet. Are you a puzzle person? Some people are and some aren’t!
I just got this new puzzle box at Target. Such a cute Disney collection! So far I’ve put one together and it was really fun.
The other night I, shockingly, got six straight ours of sleep. The baby decided to be a dream and sleep a long chunk! But, I must have slept HARD because when I woke up I had horrible pain in my neck. I couldn’t even pick the baby up or look down or to the side without pain. I went to the chiropractor and got a little relief but I’ve also been using Ben’s Christmas present I got him! I bought a neck massager off Amazon and it’s AWESOME!!! Medcursor Neck Shoulder Massager with Heat. Ben loves it and what’s his is mine and mine is his. haha. (He got me a foot spa/bath soaker with heat for Christmas and we both use it. We share!) What I love about the massager is that there are these loops in the handles that you can put your arms in and kind of pull the massager down into your back/neck even more. It heats which feels amazing too. The one downside is that you have to have it plugged it.. I wish that you could just charge it and then use it wherever you wanted. But, still love it and it has been helpful as my neck/shoulder heals up. If you are looking for something to help you relax as you read a book…or watch a favorite show… you’ll love this!
I hope you found this favorites post helpful and fun!
