My husband thinks I’m nesting but I don’t know WHAT he is talking about…. ;) Just give me all the bins and labels please!
I gave our Laundry Room a little refresh this week and I wanted to share the basic organization set up I have going on in there!
I already had some of the bins going…but they needed a clean out. Once I got rolling I realized what else I needed and grabbed a few smaller bins that matched.
In today’s post I’ll share sources and the basic organization set up that really has helped things run smoothly in there!
First things first, the white bins are from Target and the dry erase labels come in 3 packs from Target.
The “wash dry and fold” sign is from Hobby Lobby.
I have my broom hanging up with a large command hook from Target.
Our laundry hamper is from Target as well. I love that style because it’s easy for Micah (7 year old) to drag around when he gets laundry.
I have that same style hamper in the kid bathroom and one in our master bathroom. Then I always have one in the laundry room.
With five kids, if I stay on top of it, doing two loads a day keeps it from getting crazy!
I do one in the morning first thing and then one in the afternoon or evening.
Sometimes my 11 year old does this as her chore- just depends on what I need her to do for me.
I got an inexpensive rug from Walmart. It fits pretty well and just adds a little cushion to my feet when I’m in there. Made it feel clean and bright!
I use the top level of shelves to store our kitchen appliances….It’s handy having them up and out of the way unless we need them.
When organizing your laundry room with bins…. think about the things you want easy access to. These are all things that I regularly have to have a spot for and it makes things so much easier.
The nice thing about the dry erase labels is that you can change them up whenever you need to!
My large bins are currently: Swim, Hats, Blog, Household, Cleaning Supplies, Hangers and Light Bulbs.
My smaller bins are labeled wash and lost socks! (I was happy to find that size in the same style at Target.)
When we moved into the house, they already had the shelves going which was super helpful.
The swim bin isn’t so frequently used, but I like having one spot for it. The hat bin we use a lot in the cold days but then it also holds all of Ben and my baseball hats. I felt like we were always asking where a hat was so they for sure needed their own designated spot!
I get a lot of mail for my Blog and I needed a safe spot to put things so when I needed to photograph something I could grab it. I also have a couple of my styling supplies in there (example: table runners)
We have a craft room that holds most of the other stuff I need for my blog- I just haven’t officially finished that space just yet to show you… it’s coming together though!
The household bin holds things like flashlights, batteries, plastic silverware…things that I get asked where they are frequently and I wanted to be able to say “household bin!” ;)
If you have designated spots for things…it makes it easier for your people to find things on their own.
I had this organization set up in our old laundry room and it was very helpful! I used an over the closet door organizer – just nailed up- to store little nick nacks and things I want easy access to.
I have a spot for nails..some tools…sewing kit…command hooks.. electronic cords..things like that!
I believe the iron/ironing board holder is from Walmart. I also hook our mops onto it.
I hope this peek into our laundry room inspires you to get some bins and labels and set up your space to make life easier!
This space is nothing fancy but it’s functional and clean and that makes me happy!

February 19, 2020 at 11:15 amI love how this space turned out! We don’t have a full laundry room in our current house, but I long fo the day where we can fit more than one bottle of detergent in there!
