I added some Christmas cheer to the play room!! Here’s how it turned out!
First off, the chalkboard wall really adds to the whimsy in this space… I wanted to create a little North Pole house for the kids to play Candy Cane Cafe in! Just a few festive details and the space was ready for Santa’s Helpers!
We use the play room kitchen area EVERY SINGLE DAY. The kids love playing in there. We decorated it for Halloween and I was excited to get in there and make it magical for Christmas!
It only took a few supplies to make it our North Pole Cafe! (Listing them all below!!)
But first things first…I went through their play food bins and cleared out the random toys from upstairs that got thrown in there…. I threw away the trash/paper they put in there when “cleaning” ;) and also removed some older play food items that were looking a little worn. Every year we gift the kids play food
(a set for each kid!) and I like to give it a little love before that happens. On Christmas they end up with a whole fun new batch to add to their play kitchen bins and they all end up in there cooking! Check out all of our favorite play food I get on Amazon.
ALL of this I got when it was on sale!

I love creating spaces for the kids to use their imaginations in. We use this play kitchen every day – you can check out our tutorial below. And the sink unit is from IKEA.

I loved how adding a little wire ribbon around the kitchen (just attaching with shipping tape!) made it feel so cheerful in there!
I borrowed the pink rug (Target) from Sophia’s room and grabbed some of our paper cups/straws from the kitchen!
I put up one of our Christmas trees and I love that you can see it from the front window.
Sienna put the little birds (from Target) in the tree and I loved how it looked!
Even our Elf, Frosty, popped over to check out the fun space the next day. :)
We hung a Target Bargain bin garland of Santa and his reindeer…and put up an Elf quote on the letter board.

I had a blue bean bag up in the boys’ room but wanted something soft for them to hang out in down here…I threw a big fuzzy blanket over it and the Santa Pillow. Ended up looking like a big snowball to me!
Thanks for stopping by to check out our Christmas Playroom!!
Merry Christmas to you!
