Christmas is around the corner and I wanted to share how I decorated our main living spaces!
Today I’m giving a photo tour of our Foyer, Dining Room, Family Room and Kitchen! Come on in!
I always love seeing how other people decorate their home to make it feel festive and homie for the Holidays.
I’ve already changed up a few things but, over all, this is what we did this year and I LOVE how cozy it feels.
Thankful for this space to enjoy my family in. If you have any questions about the rooms just comment and ask!
FOYER
When you first walk in the house you see our tree! (More on that below.) I hung up some garlands from Michaels.
(I use command hooks to hang almost everything! just fyi)
The other garlands straight ahead are from Target (Hearth and Hand) and the pom pom one is from House + Holm
Back around Halloween I hung up some shelves from Hobby Lobby so that I could put up some of my breakable decor away from little kids hands. I was excited to decorate this spot for Christmas! I pretty much am growing a garland collection from Pearl and Jane. I have a Halloween one and now a Christmas one. They are just so cute! I think I need one for Valentine’s Day next. ;) The rug is from Hobby Lobby and got moved there over Thanksgiving and I liked it so it stayed!
One of the decor items we got this season was the Climbing Santa from Target! Ben was the most excited about this haha and I don’t blame him. It was always so fun seeing the little ones just stop and stare at it at Target. haha. I don’t trust my boys to have it next to the tree….so Sophia thought it would be good on the kitchen bar. It’s a safe spot and adds some cheer to that counter.
DINING ROOM
I styled our “Christmas morning breakfast table” set up for you guys! I really just couldn’t wait to see how it was all gonna come together hehe. I put the dishes aside but everything else is still hanging out as our day to day Christmas decor! I’ve also added more bottle brush trees. (I did a whole tutorial over in my insta highlights!)
Our Dining Table and Bench are World Market. It’s actually an outdoor table we got on sale at the end of summer and we LOVE IT.
The white metal chairs are from amazon.
The hanging snowflakes we’ve had for years…a mix of Dollar Tree ones and the big ones are from Hobby Lobby. I used string to hang them up!
The shelves in our Dining Room are an old DIY – you can see a tutorial here: DIY IKEA Wood Shelves
I was so excited about these little deer plates I got at Home Goods. (meri meri brand!)
I got napkin rings at Hobby Lobby and bleached/dip painted them to match our table. I also got little bell placards at Hobby Lobby and painted them as well.
The little houses are from Target’s bargain bins over the years. The table runner was from TJ Max or Marshalls?? One of those stores!
The glasses are from Anthropologie and the plastic Santa ones are from Walmart. (I saw Dollar Tree also has great plastic ones!)
We put out our little baby Jesus in the manger on the shelves. Usually we hide baby Jesus and then He appears Christmas morning….but I just wanted to enjoy it longer!!
(We have another nativity scene in the kitchen where we are doing that.)
FAMILY ROOM
This is the space that we spend the most time in and I want it to always feel cozy and homie!
Our sectional sofa is from Ashley Home Store and was the best purchase of the year. But it’s pretty big so it bumped our tree from the corner spot to have it on the side. Which is fine! with five kids you want elbow room on Christmas morning. :)
Our rugs are from Target. I love love the feel and how they hold up with the kids so I ended up gettin gate same style for over on the tile kitchen floor I don’t like. Especially with our tree over there I wanted to cozy it up! Our coffee table is IKEA. Our stockings are from over the years…Target…Hobby Lobby… I’ve also added pom poms and tassels I made to them!
The little Santa Mailbox is from Hobby Lobby and it’s the cutest thing ever. We did the little faux shiplap DIY over the fireplace and you can find our original tutorial, from a past house, here.
THE TREE!
Our tree is a flocked one from Target that I grabbed on sale earlier this year. The tree collar is also from Target. (I don’t see either online anymore!)
We did a totally non breakable tree this year! we STARTED with some glass ones at the top but with the little boys randomly playing with the lower ornaments it shook the tree justttt enough to break them. haha. SO all soft and shatterproof this year! Ornaments from Target, Walmart, Michaels and Hobby Lobby over the years.
KITCHEN
We spend a lot of time in the kitchen over the Holidays and I wanted to make it festive but functional!
I have a little basket (from Target) where I put all of my seasonal items like paper plates, containers for treats, napkins, straws, treats etc! I like having it all in one place so that any snack time can turn into something special and Christmas-y! I did the same thing for Thanksgiving and it was handy. I found these wreaths at Michaels on sale and hung them with ribbon from Hobby Lobby. The Santa cookie jar is from Target and I just couldn’t pass it up this year! Some Santas aren’t as cute….he cute!
Be sure to check out yesterday’s blog post if you want to see the Recipes we make every Holiday!
The goodies in this basket are a mix of Target Bargain bins, hobby lobby for the wooden scoops, Walmart for the plastic straws(my kids don’t like paper ones!) And Walmart/Home Goods for plates and napkins! Love the pop of Christmas on our counter!
KITCHEN EAT IN AREA
This area has already changed since I took photos haha. We currently have our old dining room table in there. (We put it back up for when we hosted Thanksgiving and needed more tables!) But I honestly am torn on which I want in there. It’s a little too big but I like the white. For Christmas morning though, we are going to probably have the little table there.
The wooden table(Hobby Lobby) in the back I had set up as our “pie table” for Thanksgiving…but I loved how the garland (Hobby Lobby) looked so we kept it up! I put our Nativity and other special christmas decor there. I just got the sweet manger scene at Hobby Lobby. (far left) The angel makes me think of Sienna! The sign is also from Hobby Lobby.
I hope you enjoyed a peek into our home for the Holidays!
I’m sharing more of the Christmas cheer over on our Instagram! @athomewithnatalie
anddddddd… I can’t wait to share with you the Playroom!!!
It got decked out yesterday for Christmas and it’s just the cutest space.
My kids asked me to keep it like that “for always.” ;)
