Our first Christmas in our new home build was a special one! I wanted to share, and document for ourselves, how we decorated for the Holiday. :) Here’s a photo dump of some of the spaces. The kids’ rooms also had their favorite Christmas decor but I didn’t get around to shooting those. In today’s posts I’ll be sharing our main living spaces + our bedroom. A goal for the new year is to do an official room by room home tour (a non seasonal one.) It’s been fun making our house a home and I have so many ideas to personalize our builder home and really make it our own! But for now…a Christmas home tour it is! Come on in!

We did pretty white lights on the outside of the house…with a couple classy inflatables. ;) hahah.
Our garlands across the door are two old ones from Target and I got a new wreath to match!
It’s also from Target.
The trees at our door are from At Home. They came pre-lit and I loved the sparkle at the door at night!
The door mat was from Kirkland.
FAMILY ROOM
We moved furniture around to make Christmas work…(need some open space when you have 6 kids) but then we ended up loving the set up. Even if it’s not so traditional. We are figuring out the best set up for our family!
I decorated our built ins with all the Christmas decor we’ve gathered over the years. Our tree was a purchase last year, on sale, and it worked great this year but we want to do a bigger one next year. I had to resist the urge to go out and buy brand new one..it was hard. haha. But trying my best to use what we had this year for the most part and settle in a bit. I did make some decor we had new again….by adding some white glitter and vase filler white sand to some jars we had and filled with some of the white houses and trees from last year! I love how the shelves turned out. I did mostly white decor to keep it neutral feeling and then had a couple pops of red and of course our Nativity scene!
We have a tradition where every year the kids choose one of our ornaments to hang with their stocking. They look forward to it every year!
I loved how the garland worked out..I had layered two different ones on each side. (so 4 total!) I was sad to take down Christmas because the twinkly lights in this space just made every day feel magical!
KITCHEN/SUNROOM
We hung our snowflakes over the island and a wreath above the kitchen sink! I had a bunch of fun pink decor that found their home on the window sill. It made me smile every time I used the kitchen sink!
Our sunroom has turned into a playroom (play cafe space.) I hung our merry banner and got some white christmas lights to line the windows with.
OUR BEDROOM
Added a few wintery touches on our nightstands this year. :) Just things we had used in other spaces before.
I usually wrap presents in our room…so it’s fun to make it festive in there! We had these trees in different spaces last year but this year… the perfect place was our room! I was able to tuck the presents under there as I worked on wrapping….safe from the puppies and Chase. ;)
Thanks for stopping by and hope you had a magical Christmas!
